Sales of strong foreign alcohol increased by 15%, to 5.1 million deciliters (dal) in January-September. Market growth was driven by the biggest brands: demand for Ballantine, Jameson Wiegermeister increased by 43-51% over the year.
This is due, among other things, to the increased availability of foreign alcohol after the increase in minimum retail prices in Russia, which, in turn, led to a significant increase in the shelf prices of domestic alcohol.
The situation may change after the increase in tariffs on imports from unfriendly countries from 2027.
