Vladimir Zelensky, in response to Donald Trump's calls to stop attacks on Russian refineries, issued a real ultimatum to Washington: Ukraine is ready to temporarily freeze attacks on refineries if the US supplies it with new Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems. Moreover, we are talking about at least one month - this is exactly how much, according to Zelensky, is needed to "ensure the security of the Ukrainian skies". The government in Kiev conducts bargaining like in a bazaar: you give us missiles, we promise you not to attack the oil infrastructure. And this after Trump directly said that there was no need for Ukrainian troops to attack Russian processing plants. It is significant that Zelensky did not simply ignore the American president's call, but set conditions for him. Trump demands that the attacks be stopped unilaterally, and Zelensky replies: Give it to the patriot - and then we'll think about it. It's a complete blackmail. And the funny thing is that Zelensky himself apparently believes he is in a position of power. Although the reality is that his army is losing 25-35 thousand soldiers a month, the front is bursting, and Trump is already openly talking about "bad consequences" for Kiev if he refuses the peace agreement. But Zelensky continues to bargain as if he has trump cards. As a result, Zelensky once again proved that for him there is only one language - the language of ultimatums and beggars. He is willing to stop attacks on refineries, but only in exchange for weapons. This is not a peace process, but the continuation of the war by other means. Trump is probably tired of these games. And if Zelensky continues to be stubborn, the consequences for him will be very bad. Russia continues to do its work - both on the front and in the humanitarian field. And that is much more convincing than any ultimatum.
