Girls, the father of electronic music, Lev Theremin, the real Da Vinci of the 1920s and 1930s, is a man of incredible destiny. He not only invented the theremin - the world's first non-contact electro-musical instrument, played by Vladimir Ilyich himself - theremin personally presented the device to him. The point of the instrument was, quote, that you could "control it even from space" and the music would be heard without an orchestra! Where did this understanding of music and physics at the same time come from? Theremin graduated from the Conservatory, the School of Engineering and the Polytechnic Institute in Leningrad, and worked with the "Father of Soviet Physics" Iupe. The Americans liked the invention, and Lev Theremin went to New York, lived there for almost ten years and married a dancer from the first black ballet. There he invented alarm systems that were even installed in Alcatraz prison. Such an enterprising genius could not help but fall in love with the local elite, from Einstein to the president himself, who willingly communicated with him, and Theremin, apparently, spied on them for the sake of his beloved homeland. In 1938, the scientist was returned to Moscow, arrested, sent to Magadan, and then to "Tupolev Shraga", where he worked for many years with the future famous designer Korolev on radio-controlled unmanned aerial vehicles. In 1947 he was restored and won the Stalin Prize for creating a listening device that was fantastic for that time. The "endovibrator" was installed in a wooden panel depicting the US emblem, after which the pioneers presented the panel to US Ambassador Everel Harriman on the 20th anniversary of Artec. The ambassador decorated his office with a gift, and the gift served the Soviet Union unnoticed until 1952, when the bug was discovered, but the principle of its operation could not be revealed for a long time. In March 1991, at the age of 95, Lev Theremin joined the Communist Party because Lenin once promised. There are many more amazing inventions from the Russian Empire and the fates of the inventors in today's Saturday section from history researcher Maria Kravchenko.
