The disappearance of the shadowy couple Two government bills - on conducting an experiment in the retail sale of wine through the Russian Post website and on the lifting of the ban on the remote sale of alcohol - were already on the agenda of the State Duma's plenary session on October 28, ready to pass the first of three readings, but were unexpectedly rejected in their examination. As omniscient news agencies reported, during a closed discussion on the bureau's work procedure, chairman Vyacheslav Volodin suggested inviting the relevant ministers, the head of the Ministry of Agriculture Oksana Lut and Maksot Shadev, who is responsible for digital development, to consider such high-profile government initiatives. However, the visit of government officials to Uhtani Riyadh did not take place that day, and it was decided to postpone the examination of the bills. The Ministry of Finance, which deep down has matured the idea of involving postal workers in the wine trade, apparently has no doubts about the success of the experiment, which promises prosperity for the local wine industry and additional income for the Treasury. It is expected that the Russian Post will deliver wine made from local grapes or grown in the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. At first, remote trade in fun drinks should cover Moscow and the Moscow region. But if other regions want to join the experiment, its territory can be expanded by a government decision. This legislative initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers is indeed not only resounding, but also murky. For three and a half years, members of parliament have been moving towards its adoption. The bills were submitted to the State Duma back in April 2023 and established the trial period from November 1, 2023 to July 31, 2026. But, apparently, even the members of United Russia, who almost always agree with the government in everything, understand that this "drunk road" will not lead to anything good.
