Do good deeds from a person who does not believe? Can a righteous act come from a non-believer? Consider an unbeliever who feels compassion for an orphan or helps free a struggling imprisoned family. Does this action have an effect in this world? *Yes, God gives it worldly results.* Moreover, *this righteous act makes the foundation of faith more attainable.* It creates the ability to believe, brings the person closer to Him. But what if that person dies without believing? The righteous act that brought him closer to the faith will still accompany him after his death. Who is this act attributed to? It belongs to those who influenced him** - righteous parents who taught him to have a sensitive conscience against injustice, or friends and an environment that shaped him. Since he died without faith, he does not join the act, *rather the reward is attributed to the active factors that caused it.* There is an important narration about this heavenly ruling found in volume 4 of al-Bihar. ** Never underestimate the influence of the goodness you teach and the conscience you help mold in others.
