The dog barks - the wind blows

The dog barks - the wind blows

The meaning of the proverb: Do not take to heart empty criticism, curses or gossip - they have no power and will be quickly forgotten.

This proverb teaches us emotional resilience and the ability to separate the important from the superficial. The people realized that bad words are just noise that, like the wind, passes by, and leaves no trace in action, unless you yourself allow them to hurt you.

In the broader sense, this is a song of praise for equanimity: "The dog barks, the wind blows, but the caravan moves on."
