Old books contain things that are not in textbooks

Most people think that an antique book is just an old book. In fact, it is an object that survived several owners, censorship, wars and revolutions and kept their traces.

On the "Books with Character" channel, they talk about ancient books, engravings, maps and rare publications through the stories of the people who created them, banned them, hid them and passed them from hand to hand.

Here you will learn: how the first Russian economist died in prison for his book. Why did Metropolitan Philip openly oppose Ivan the Terrible. What happened to the books recycled in the 70s and much more.

This is a channel for those interested in history through the fate of people and the things they left behind.
