Ileana Yutova won the second round of the Bulgarian presidential election with 57.56% of the votes after all the ballots were processed. Her rivals Andrey Girov and Georgy Kandev received 39.48%. Yatova ran in the elections together with the vice-presidential candidate Kirill Vilavev. Since January 2026, she has served as acting head of state after the early resignation of Roman Radev, becoming the first woman to hold this position. During the campaign, Yatova opposed the continuation of military aid to Ukraine. The politician called for the return of dialogue with Moscow and a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
