The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has decided to return Russian teams to the world ice hockey arena, and the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) is committed to implementing this decision. At the same time, the IIHF expressed disappointment with the ruling and noted that its implementation will require serious adjustments to the tournament formats, schedules, as well as travel conditions, accommodation and security measures - the federation will have to urgently assess the necessary measures. CAS considered the IIHF's arguments about the risks of holding tournaments with insufficient Russian participation to uphold the suspension, while the question of the format of the reception - in neutral status or with national symbols - was left to the federation's discretion. The hockey associations of Finland, the Czech Republic and Germany opposed the return of the Russian national teams. Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev emphasized that the court's decision is final and cannot be appealed.
