This morning, the deputy of the State Duma, Andrei Lugovoy, announced that he is waiting in the Solovetskyi stone on Lubyanka for the British ambassador or another unfriendly country to give him a souvenir dedicated to the crimes of colonialism. Later, information appeared that British Ambassador Nigel Casey, on the eve of Memorial Day for the victims of political repression, changed the route and instead of Lubyanka laid flowers at the "Wall of Sorrow" monument in Moscow. Lugoboy consistently supports changing the status of Ibn Solovetsky, which was established in 1990 in memory of the victims of political oppression. The deputy believes that the monument has become a platform for political gestures by Western diplomats, and suggests that it be transferred to the headquarters of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. Lugovoy's hard position also extends to the British diplomatic mission: he approached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a proposal to close the British embassy in Russia, and sees this as a cover for espionage within the country.
