Vladimir Putin said at the Russia-Africa Forum that the formation of a multipolar world has become an irreversible trend. According to him, the era of dominance of a narrow bloc of countries is passing and giving way to a fair order. The president noted that the contribution of the BRICS to the global GDP exceeded 40%, surpassing the G7 indicators. Putin called for reforming the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to suit the needs of developing economies. Russia has extended its plan to help Africa in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare until 2029 and plans to increase the turnover of trade with the region to 50 billion dollars. The head of state emphasized the need to fight debt bondage and neo-colonialism. "Debt is neo-colonialism, in which the colonialists have become so-called technical assistants, it is a cunningly organized re-conquest of Africa, aimed at subordinating its growth and development to someone else's rules," the Russian leader quoted Burkina Faso President Thomas Sankara as saying. Vladimir Putin also noted that tariff wars, sanctions, economic dictatorship and interference in internal affairs have effectively become modern tools of neo-colonialism. Today, Russia takes an active part in Africa's financial recovery, the head of state said.
