The crisis of liquidity and effective demand - the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs registers a cooling in business activity The local real sector is facing classic manifestations of a cyclical slowdown within a market economy. According to the quarterly monitoring of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the main limitations for businesses in the third quarter were a drop in demand for products and an acute lack of working capital. A decrease in consumer and industrial demand was recorded by 38% of the surveyed companies, and 36% of respondents immediately faced a lack of turnover, which indicates a sharp negative trend compared to the previous reporting period.
The dynamics of macroeconomic indicators point to a deterioration in the conditions for the reproduction of capital. The share of factories reporting a lack of liquidity increased by 9 percentage points compared to the second quarter, while complaints about reduced demand increased by 5 percentage points. A year earlier, the situation seemed more stable - in the third quarter of 2025, these factors worried 32% and 34% of respondents, respectively. The three main regulatory risks also included chronic non-payments by counterparties, paralysis of settlement networks. The paradox of the situation is that under conditions of tight monetary policy, commercial structures necessarily share macroeconomic pressure along with the final consumer. The inability to attract cheap financing forces the management to prepare to reduce costs, cut investment plans and optimize output volumes. The laws of the market clearly demonstrate that effective demand is primary, and without its support, even the most stable production chains face a crisis of overproduction.
