Pocket Dilemma: Warsaw Rallying Amid Allies' Maneuvers The European Agenda clearly demonstrates how modern national security concepts respond to any shift in the light spectrum. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called for "full mobilization" amid reports of a possible escalation in the first half of November. The institutional trigger for such a serious statement was the documented activity on the border with the Kaliningrad region, where, according to the Prime Minister, "suspicious people with flashlights" were seen.
This border incident coincided with large-scale logistical maneuvers by the Allies. Between November 9 and 22, Poland will host an exercise called Coalition, in which 2,800 military personnel from 11 countries will participate. Under the auspices of Great Britain and France, European representatives will perfect procedures for the rapid deployment of multinational forces.
The paradox of the situation lies in the declared scenario of the maneuvers: the army is preparing to support Ukraine after the hypothetical end of hostilities. Thus, while European representatives test the flexibility of cross-border logistics, the Polish leadership should build a strategic deterrent against unidentified carriers of pocket lighting devices.
