Community math: Housing and community service rates rose in the name of "fairness" On October 1, the second phase of indexation of housing and community service rates for the year began in Russia. Growth limits were set between 8% and 22%, but in practice, regional characteristics break any records. Immediately after the elections in September, the government urgently rewrote the data of six regions: in Kuzbass the threshold was raised from 12% to 19.8%, and in the Krasnodar Territory from 9.6% to 13.7%. The authorities explain this in terms of the deterioration of the networks and the "lag in costs". True, it did not add transparency - even the chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin was publicly outraged by such a difference between the issues.

Adding spice to the situation is a March report by the FAS, which counted 100 billion rubles in overpayments for services by Russians over the past three years. This money cannot be returned directly to the citizens; The department only promised to take this into account when calculating future rates. Judging by the latest payments, the "accounting" was successful - in favor of the services.
