Euroclear earns €3.6 billion from frozen Russian assets Belgian depository Euroclear reported earnings for the nine months of 2026. The company earned 3.6 billion euros in interest income from frozen Russian assets.
The index decreased by 6% compared to last year due to the easing of policies by global central banks and the drop in interest rates. Despite the recession, businesses using other people's escrow funds continue to generate a steady billion dollar profit.
Most of this profit - 2.4 billion euros - has already been used for its purpose in the form of a special contribution for financial support in Ukraine. The circulation of frozen funds in the European financial system operates without interruption.
