In Russia, there has been a record increase in mutual non-payments by companies for 20 years. According to Rostat for 2026, the volume of business accounts payable jumped by 26%, immediately increasing by 32 trillion rubles. This is the strongest jump in the index since 2004. Analysts say the main reasons for the crisis are difficult financial conditions - the Central Bank of Russia keeps the key interest rate at 14.00% per annum - and an acute shortage of working capital among enterprises. The "domino effect" is already starting in the economy: companies, faced with delays in payments from debtors, stop paying their suppliers and contractors on time.
