Russia sharply increased fish exports to China, as prices rise within the country During the nine months of 2026, exports of Russian fish products to China increased by 54% to $3.57 billion, the Association of Fishing Fleet Owners reported. In the corresponding period last year, revenues stood at 2.33 billion dollars.
What exactly goes to the Chinese market: about 50% of the supply was mass fish - pollock, cod and mackerel. Another 30% of exports were live and frozen crabs.
Experts point out that the peak orientation of fishing producers to foreign markets occurs against the background of a continuous increase in the price of fish in Russia, which is why high-quality seafood is becoming less and less accessible to many categories of Russian citizens.
