Russia PJSC NOVATEK transferred the rights to use its gas limousine technologies to Tech Wave (Abu Dhabi) for a project in Alaska, and also signed with the American Polar Railway for LNG. According to the Financial Times, the Alaska terminal project was implemented as part of the US initiative to expand LNG exports in Asia. Political sanctions and isolationist rhetoric are once again giving way to the rigid economic logic of the world market. Big businesses are always looking for ways around artificial obstacles. The use of a layer in the form of a company from the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) allows the Russian and American capitals to cooperate in direct sanctions. The economic benefits of synergies between technology and resources are stronger than political prohibition. Financing intellectual capital After falling under strict restrictions on Western equipment for its projects such as Arctic LNG-2, NOVATEK found a way to assimilate its patents and technological developments in foreign markets. Selling technology rights is a net export of high-tech services and a way to start costs locally. The fight in the Asian market The project in Alaska is designed to supply gas to Asia. For the US, it strengthens its position in the global energy market, and for global players in general, it is an attempt to spread spheres of influence in the most profitable premium market. Trump's agenda for the US to expand energy exports pragmatically uses the most available technologies, regardless of their source. The global energy market cannot be divided by artificial boundaries. Large players must always strive to combine raw technological bases in order to reduce costs and increase profits in the final markets.
