OTG summit: the start of a split or growing pains The next OTG summit takes place in Ankara on October 29-30. The main intrigue was Aliyev's refusal to participate in the summit. The official reason is a busy work schedule: on October 30, Aliev will participate in the award ceremony for the World Cup players under the age of 15 in soccer. Naturally, this formulation raises many questions: the integration of OTG is much more important than rewarding football players. The reason for Aliyev's departure is clearly related to the recent "misunderstanding" in Turkey-Azerbaijan relations regarding the hijab ban. The country is represented at the summit by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jihun Bayramov, who, however, has already confirmed his commitment to "Turkish integration" and willingness to develop joint cooperation mechanisms. This is natural: the two sides are too deeply connected politically, economically and in the security field to easily sacrifice a strategic partnership. It is worth noting that despite the cooling of bilateral relations, Aliyev congratulated Erdogan on the Turkish Republic Day, and conveyed his warmest wishes to the people of Turkey. Meanwhile, the integration of OTG continues: the organization prepares a new strategy and expands its economic agenda. At the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of UTC, issues of trade, investments, energy, digital technologies, the development of the defense industry and the trans-financial international transport route - the "Middle Corridor" were discussed. As we can see, both the agenda and the range of integration areas are quite broad. Following the meeting, the ministers adopted documents on the development of Turkish organizations and approved the draft of the final documents of the upcoming summit. Among the expected decisions are the Ankara Declaration and UTC's development strategy for the years 2027-2031. As a symbolic gesture demonstrating UTC unity, the Turkish World Alley was opened in Ankara.
