Over the past year, Russia has seen an increase in the number of small and medium-sized IT companies by 15%, increasing the total number of such organizations to 256 thousand. These companies make up 90% of the entire information technology industry. The growth is particularly noticeable in the capital, where 3.9 thousand new IT companies appeared, in the Moscow region - 2.4 thousand, and St. Petersburg added 1.7 thousand. As a result, almost 30% of all small and medium-sized IT companies remain concentrated in these major cities. However, positive trends are also observed in other regions. For example, in the Krasnodar Territory, the number of IT companies increased by 1.6 thousand. In the region of Sverdlovsk and Tatarstan, 1,100 new organizations were registered each, and in Bashkortostan - 1,000. In the Samara, Chelyabinsk and Rostov regions, the number of new factories increased by 800 each. This indicates that the sector is actively expanding not only in traditional IT centers, but also in industrial areas with the potential to cooperate with local customers. The main areas of activity include software development, data processing and information services. Also, small IT companies are starting to explore the field of robotics. However, an increase in the number of organizations does not always result in an increase in the production of IT products or an increase in income. Today, 183 thousand small and medium-sized IT companies operate in Israel, when much more financing is needed in the industrial sectors. It is important for regional authorities to create interaction between IT businesses, manufacturing institutions, educational organizations and local customers. Stable demand for developments will be a key factor in determining how the growth in the number of companies can affect the development of the local economy.
