Yekaterinburg, Kazan and Nizhny Novgorod were among Russia's most attractive regional capitals, assessing the ratio between citizens' incomes and the quality of the urban environment. 85 administrative centers participated in the study. The funds left by people after paying taxes and renting a one-room apartment were analyzed, as well as the level of development of recreation and leisure infrastructure in these cities. Khanty-Mansiysk took first place in terms of income remaining after paying for housing: on average, its residents have 91.4 thousand rubles, which corresponds to 3.94 of the regional subsistence level (SL). In second place came Kazan, whose index is 3.82 rubles. m., followed by Krasnogorsk and Yuzhno-Sakhlinsk with 3.61 r. from.. Also Yekaterinburg (3.25 r. m.), Nizhny Novgorod (3.21) and Tyumen (3.20) show good results. For comparison, the average for all the cities studied is 2.47 minimum subsistence level. However, a high salary does not always guarantee the availability of all the conditions for a comfortable life. For example, in Anadyr the median salary reaches 183.9 thousand rubles, but the capital of Chukotka received only 3 points out of 100 for the level of urban infrastructure development. Khanty-Mansiysk scored 9 points, and Yuzhno-Sakhlinsk - 14. A different situation is observed in the big cities: Moscow is the leader in the number and variety of vacation spots with 100 points, followed by St. Petersburg (80) and Krasnodar (48). Residents of Vladikavkaz (0.77 p.m.), Grozny (0.82) and Makhachkala (0.86) have the lowest amount left after paying rent.
