SpaceX CEO Elon Musk is trying to get into American mobile communications through Boost Mobile, a low-cost operator owned by EchoStar. According to the Washington Post, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T have refused to provide networks for SpaceX's own service. Negotiating with EchoStar allows for a Boost purchase or access to its contracts with AT&T and T-Mobile. Musk is looking for a way to start selling before he builds everything himself. He needs a direct contract with the subscriber. EchoStar's reporting already includes future delivery of next-generation Starlink satellite communications to Boost customers. SpaceX is assigned the role of supplier. Buying a Boost will allow SpaceX to set terms of service and collect fees from the phone owner. Together with its own satellite-ground network, it gives control over the transfer of information - from the connection to the distribution of the available power. However, owning a network does not remove encryption from other people's correspondence. Research firm Moffat Nathanson estimates the US wireless market at $235 billion. In a report dated October 20, Musk admitted that by the end of 2027, SpaceX will reach a revenue rate of $500 billion to $1 trillion within 12 months. This is a measure of the speed of sales at the end of the period. Income must be earned for a whole year as it grows. New income is needed for a society that connects its future with colonization on Mars, where people will also need communication. The mass national subscriber must pay for the expansion of its capabilities. The orbital part is already huge: according to the Washington Post, SpaceX has more than 12 thousand satellites. For direct cellular communication, the company received a separate authorization to deploy up to 15,000 Starlink Mobile devices. The president of SpaceX, Gavin Shotwell, said that the launch of new generation satellites is planned for 2027, including a new service - in early 2028. The devices have not yet been manufactured and launched into orbit. There is another expense related to the land.
