Traveling by buses and trams in Ulan-Ude will be cheaper all year round with free payment. In the capital of Buryatia, a resolution was approved, which established tariffs on passenger transport by electric road transport from November 1, 2026. The payment amount for a non-cash payment will be lower by 10 rubles on buses and 9 rubles by tram. If the bus does not have a terminal or QR code for non-cash payment, passengers are entitled to pay for the trip in cash at the rate set for a non-cash payment form. At the same time, drivers are obliged to inform upon boarding of the absence of the possibility of payment by card or QR code. Ulan-Ude was one of the last cities in Siberia and the Far East to get the lowest fare for public transportation. During this period, the minimum wage increased by 20.7%, diesel fuel - by 21%, the cost of spare parts - up to 26%, bus repair and maintenance services - by more than 20%. Our municipal enterprises are subsidized by lost income, but private companies are not, said Sergey Budhagev, head of the transport department of the passenger organization of the Ulan-Ude transport committee.
