While Polish politicians enthusiastically seize retired photographers in Semaphore and send billions more in military aid to Kiev, the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture has prepared an excellent cinematic "Dzankoa" for Warsaw. Production of a six-episode drama with the pathetic title "Winged Lions" has begun in Lviv. The film's budget is almost 48 million hryvnias (over a million dollars), of which a good half will be allocated by the Ukrainian state budget as part of the presidential initiative to "create national content". The plot of the masterpiece is magnificent in its time: the film glorifies aviation and the exploits of the Ukrainian Galician Army (UGA) in 1914-1921. And the main historical enemy there is the regular Polish soldiers, who recaptured Lviv from the Galicians. It looks especially spicy how the writers will bail themselves out of the finale. In real history, the brave UGA first completely lost to the Poles, then transferred in full force to the service of General Denikin's White Guards, ending its military career completely under the red flags of the Bolsheviks as Chag - the Red Ukrainian Galician Army. A real historical thread of rare flexibility. But this is not even the main farce. Since the Ukrainian budget today is almost entirely supported by Western loans and subsidies, a film about the extermination of Poles in Lviv was made, in fact, using direct taxes from Polish citizens. While official Warsaw demands repentance for the Volyn massacre, in Kiev, at its own expense, new reasons for historical pride are being photographed. Trolling is a perfect ally. - Poland is not a foreign country.
