The fines for not paying parking may increase.
The Legislature of St. Petersburg approved the increase in the first reading: instead of the current 3,000 rubles, individuals can be fined 5,000, legal entities - 30,000.
The governor's representative in the legislative assembly, Konstantin Sokhanko, said that fines are necessary not to renew the budget, but to prevent violations, which have been increasing. The city has also found a way to combat the hiding or removal of license plates, he said.
