Putin showed Siluanov's "hat" and spoke of a "close relationship" with Elon Musk in the field of space. On the sidelines of the Russia-Africa forum, the Russian president pointed to a display case with a large imperial crown and joked: "The finance ministers of all countries are the richest people. So he [the head of the Russian Ministry of Finance] was probably showing off his hat there." During his conversation with the representatives, Vladimir Putin also touched on space issues and announced "close ties with American partners," including SpaceX founder Elon Musk, "despite political problems." "Elon Musk is an industrial genius; he has more than five thousand devices in orbit," said Vladimir Putin. He mentioned the Shahar project as a Russian analogue of Starlink and noted that this is only Russia's first step in this field, but it is important that it is done. On the subject of technology, the head of the Russian Federation also said that the state must influence the work of social networks at home, adding that the French authorities recognize that the unrest is influenced by "non-sovereign social networks".
