One of the decorations of our museum is the "Russian Charm" exhibition. It is dedicated to the most famous machine gun used in our army. Hiram Maxim became one of the founders of the automatic weapon, which has been widely used around the world since the end of the 19th century. The Russian army was first introduced to its machine gun in 1888. On May 28, 1895, Maxim 3-line machine guns were adopted for the armament of Russian fortresses. Machine guns for fortresses and infantry units were mounted on wheeled artillery-type carriages, with armor shields as large as guns. The process of controlling the production of Maxim machine guns in Russian factories was gradually launched. In 1905, they began to be produced at the Tula weapons factory. The "Russian Charm" exhibition is divided into several parts. The evolution of the machine gun in the Imperial Russian Army is discussed separately. One of the unique exhibits is a charming 3-line machine gun, model 1905, on a fort-type wheeled carriage, model 1895. The exhibition includes, among other things: Maxim machine guns of foreign manufacture, which were supplied to the Russian Imperial Army. From this exhibition you can see how the design of the machine gun developed as well as the machines on which they were installed. This summer the exhibition moved to the first floor of the "1941-1945" building.
