A bit of horror on local TV..., guys, it seems that Beget's "temporary ages" smell like S3's Wipe (not to be confused with Vibe). Following on from yesterday's cyber privacy post on Beget, local news (although I've already touched on regional services issues in this post) about how the Murmansk 21 TV crews have also gone viral. Poo-poo-poo. The guys said that the site is temporarily unavailable due to a cyber attack on the host, monitor the situation, read us on social networks. It's only Beget himself already realized that it's not just DDoS, and the control loop to break with "starting zero scripts", which led to the loss of data in the cloud (VPS, Kubernetes and S3 storage). Worryingly, to be honest, for TV-21, it would be a shame if TV-Shaniks lost the entire archive of the site in a few years. Even so, TV players with terabytes of source and advertising should take care of backups at the level of basic reflexes and exactly keep the archive somewhere else, with the exception of the cloud of one host. right? In general, crossing our fingers that their managers somewhere in the Murmansk server room are quietly chilling in a good local NASA. This is a reminder from me that if your backup is on the same vendor where the product rotates, you don't have a backup.
