For the third year in a row, on the day of commemoration of the liberation of Moscow from the Poles and on the day of national unity, a traditional missionary action takes place in our cathedral and near the Umanskaya metro station.
Today more than 15 people went on a mission, including the students of the Moscow Theological Academy!
Some of the staff preached in the temple and in the vestibule, and the rest went to the metro station. The task was simple, but important: talk to people about Messiah, share the word of the gospel, talk about the holiday.
On this day, the interlocutors were a variety of people. Many of the townspeople were genuinely surprised to see young preachers in disguise. For some, it was an unexpected discovery: it turns out that among young people there are those who take their faith seriously and are ready to talk about Jesus right in the center of the metropolis.
This form of missionary work is an opportunity to go beyond the usual church space and talk about faith with those who may never go to church themselves.
For us it is a fulfillment of God's commandment and a valuable experience of living dialogue, and for the city's residents it is an unexpected reason to stop at the frantic pace of the capital and think about something else.
Every Christian is called to a mission. Do you want to see miracles? Go be missionaries!
