The most versatile messenger. Today is the day of remembrance of the apostle and evangelist Luke. One of the most learned men of his time, the apostle Luke possessed many different gifts. He was a doctor, an artist and the first icon painter, a writer, a historian, a preacher - that's all we know for sure. He was also the most faithful friend of the chief apostle Paul, about whom he left a written testimony. Accompanying Paul on his dangerous missionary activity, Luke kept notes that became the holy book of Acts. The Gospel of Luke is the most comprehensive of the four contained in the New Testament. It is only because of him that we know the parables of the prodigal son, the salesman and the prodigal and the good Samaritan. The apostle and evangelist Luke prays to God for us.
