German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier: Those who call "death to the Jews" in the streets or demand the destruction of the Jewish state will not find understanding or applause in any political party. Wherever coalitions are negotiated and governments formed, this must be a condition. Antisemitism must not be allowed to influence government policy anywhere in Germany.
