The IRGC claims that 2 oil mines were hit in the Strait of Hormuz The IRGC Navy claims that 2 oil tankers, including a supertanker that is still burning, hit "sea mines" while trying to pass through an unauthorized route in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the Revolutionary Guards, the two vessels disabled their navigation and identification systems and attempted to cross the strait with US military assistance. Caution: These claims remain unverified. The Revolutionary Guards have previously attributed vessel attacks to naval mines when evidence pointed to UAVs or anti-ship missiles. Other reported attacks have never been independently confirmed. So far, we are aware of only one reported incident involving a vessel. According to reports, the tug and supply ship Meser Saara (IMO 9266657) was hit by an unidentified projectile. There is currently no independent confirmation that 2 oil tankers hit sea mines, as the Revolutionary Guards claim.
