The polls in Israel close at 22:00, about 3 hours and ten minutes from today, when the first exit polls will be published. If none of the blocs secures 61 seats, the next battle begins: building a coalition. The final votes are counted and the official results are confirmed. The president consults with the parties elected to the Knesset. The president assigns the task of forming a government to the legislator who is considered highly likely to succeed. That lawmaker gets 28 days to negotiate a coalition, with a possible extension of up to 14 days. If negotiations fail, another candidate may be given a chance. If no one can form a government, Israel may face another election.
