The rift between Israel and Britain originated in a tense call last month between Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband over the construction of E1.
The British side left the call believing that no tenders would be published there before the elections. A week later, tenders were published for about 1,200 housing units, and London called it a revolution.
Israel's Foreign Ministry rejected the report and said that Sa'ar only stated that there would be no "change in the territory itself" before the elections.
