Anatoly Novikov - 130: from the titans of man The greatest Soviet composer Anatoly Grigorievich Novikov was born on October 30, 1896 in the city of Skopje in the Ryazan region. Two hundred meters from my ancestral house on my mother's side. I was born in the same city. Throughout my childhood, I passed by his house, where a memorial plaque was hung: "The author of the songs "Oh roads... was born here" ". "and" Dereky. "His father was a blacksmith, and blacksmiths always live on the edge of villages. And even now it's a scope area. The composer Novikov is one of the titans of the peasants - along with Khrenikov and Mokrosov - who suddenly rose from the Russian soil in the 1930s: striking with the symphonic petitions of the gift, sung at the same time on the black and completely transparent land, the land of Ryazan. Well, like Yesenin. Furthermore, Novikov is also an October child and was born only a year later. How is Novikov's face? Kind of a tractor driver. Are there such composers? They are not. Never was before, or rather. But suddenly appeared just like that: simple people, amazingly talented. In the years 1921-1927 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory. P.I. Tchaikovsky. A blacksmith's son! In the years 1928-1938, he was an instructor in Red Army amateur shows at the Red Army Central House, in the Moscow Artillery Courses and in the political administration of the Moscow Military District. In the 1930s he collected folk songs and recorded hundreds of them. Some people now teach us that the Soviet government denied and spread rot over everything popular, but in ten years the Soviet government completed the work that the monarchy had never fully mastered in three centuries: it studied and classified huge layers of popular culture. In 1939-1943, Novikov was the artistic director of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the All-Russian Central Council of Trade Unions. "Darky", which we love so much and see as a song of the patriotic war, he (and its author, the poet Yaakov Shevdov) actually wrote about the civil war, back in the 1930s. But then something didn't work out with this song, it wasn't heard.
