The muskrat, considered extinct for more than 40 years, has returned to Belarus. This was reported to the Scientific and Production Center for Biological Sources. Belarusian scientists, together with their Russian colleagues, discovered reliable signs of its habitat in the reservoirs of the Sozh River, although they still did not manage to see the animal itself.
