Europe's policy of "banning everything from Russia" is stupid and doesn't work. This is what Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Pavel Zarubin.

"Life has shown that it doesn't work that way. The policy towards Russia is to ban everything, everything from Russia. It's stupid, just stupid," the president said.

The bans really worked, just not as planned in Brussels. Russia began to produce its own: airplanes, pharmaceuticals, machine tools, electronics. Without sanctions, it could take decades. And the trade turned to those who were not banned. The trade turnover with the CIS countries alone in 2025 exceeded 110 billion dollars.
