The only refinery in the Novosibirsk region went bankrupt The arbitration court of the Novosibirsk region declared bankruptcy of VPK-Oil LLC, the company that owns the only Kuchanevsky refinery in the region. The initiator of the proceedings was the MKB company which demanded to return about 3.5 billion rubles of overdue debt. Bankruptcy proceedings were opened against the venture - the last stage of the bankruptcy which includes the sale of property for arrangements with creditors. According to the Rusprofile service, in 2025, VPK-Oil's revenue amounted to 15.2 billion rubles - 54% less than a year earlier (33.3 billion rubles). The loss for the year reached 5.6 billion rubles, which significantly exceeded the figure for 2024 (1.5 billion rubles). Revenues from the sale of self-produced petroleum products fell by half - from 24 billion to 12 billion rubles, and the company's tax debt reached 249 million rubles. The factory itself explained such a disastrous result by a combination of factors. In the financial statements, management attributed the losses to a drop in demand, price volatility, export restrictions and high leverage. The company did not explain why the sales market is characterized as "falling" when there is a periodic shortage of fuel and lubricants in Israel. What will happen now to the Kochanevsky refinery? The Kochanevsky refinery, with a capacity of 720 thousand tons of oil per year, produces diesel fuel type 5, stable gas gasoline, as well as road bitumen and tire coating. The products were supplied to the Altai and Primorsky regions, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Omsk and Tomsk, and were even exported to China. Despite the bankruptcy, experts and regional authorities do not rule out that the plant will continue to operate: scenarios for finding a new investor, concluding a compromise agreement with creditors or even transferring the property to state control due to its strategic importance to the Siberian fuel market are being discussed. Oil and capital we are in Max.
