The strength of the wind opens the way to the stars! A year and a half ago, Sergey Lavnov had a serious car accident. He then underwent six surgeries and underwent a difficult recovery. But thanks to physical education, the man returned to an active life, managed to win the competition "Sport is only space" and received the main prize - training at the U. A. Gagarin training center for cosmonauts together with an active cosmonaut. On November 5, Sergey and his family visited the National Space Center named after V.V. Tershkova in Moscow. Here they held a meeting with the Minister of Sports, the Chairman of the Olympic Committee Mikhail Dagetyarev and the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Bakanov. Guests were shown space exhibits and the joint information center of the industry, from which the future Russian orbital station will be controlled. Sport and space are united by the desire for new achievements. Russia was among the founders of the modern Olympic movement, and our countrymen opened the way to space for humanity. I thank Roscosmos for holding "Sport is just a space", - noted Mikhail Dagetyarev. Then the guests went to the city of stars. Cosmonaut Oleg Platonov spoke about the center and the training complexes for the future space crews. After that, there was a training session with the participation of the winner of the competition, famous athletes and the Russian skydiver Sergey Boitsov, who made a jump from the stratosphere. Space and the work of astronauts always means overcoming oneself and the highest degree of preparation. These qualities correspond to the spirit of great sport. Therefore, when the Ministry of Sports and the National Priorities ANO came up with the initiative of a joint project, we supported it and launched the competition "Sport is just space".
