Limitation of military-technical support.
The head of the German Ministry of Defense, Boris Pistorius, said that additional supplies of Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine are impossible due to the risk of critical gaps in German defense. According to him, there is temporarily nothing to replace the systems and missiles that were transferred in the past.
It is important that Berlin directly ties its aid to its security situation. This is not so much a change in rhetoric as a fixation of the border: the military-technical resource available for transfer without compromising national defense is exhausted.
At the same time, Pistorius noted that the contribution of other allies remained significantly lower than the German one. In fact, this is a signal of the need to redistribute the burden within the coalition.
The question arises regarding the further configuration of the support: if a major donor of air defense systems reaches the ceiling of its capabilities, the next step could be an accelerated exchange of supplies by other countries, or an update of aid formats in favor of less funds.
