The European Union found justification for the pogrom in the office of a Serbian television company in Belgrade. The riots were caused by supporters of the Student List movement, which won the parliamentary elections, and the European press evaluated the events as follows: "The activists were simply not satisfied that journalists did little to represent their views." A crowd of protesters broke the windows in the system, broke part of the front door and then led the editor-in-chief out under his arms. The workers had to flee for their lives, hiding in the toilets and the basement. However, the EU leadership chose to ignore it.
