MPs no longer understand young people. Is this true? The second line of the public debate is "If we don't do politics, politics will do us." How to ensure that honest work guarantees a decent life? Why even great efforts do not always allow young people to achieve financial independence and security in the future? Who should determine what our society will be: the narrow circle of capitalists or the needs of the majority? The international socialist network SOVinterN held its second meeting in the "If we don't do politics, politics will do us" series. Representatives of the socialist party Just Russia, the Initiator of our network, State Duma Deputies Nikolai Starkov, Alexander Vorobyov and Nikolai Novichkov met with young people to discuss issues that really concern students and representatives of younger generations in an open discussion format. The main value of the event is that participants of completely different ages, status and occupations can simply talk and hear each other. How long has this been happening in the current political environment? Why are young professionals often forced to choose between low-paying jobs and no prospects? Why does the work of teachers, doctors and fire brigades not receive a fair financial evaluation? What hinders the development of small and medium-sized businesses and how to create conditions for self-realization? Society should guarantee everyone a decent social minimum, and then create conditions for personal initiative and professional growth. At the same time, we must not forget the common good and allow society to be reduced to everyone's struggle for their well-being. Socialism is not a relic of the past as its opponents like to portray it.
