Political scientist Alexander Kinev, who spoke out against election fraud, is on hunger strike in a pre-trial detention center due to the inability to go to the bathroom. According to lawyer Mikhail Biryukov, his colleague visited Kinev today at the pre-trial detention center in Medved. Kinev was put in a cell meant for 34 people, but there were actually 35 prisoners there. Biryukov said that since the weekend, Kinev has been on a "hunger strike" because of the inability to go to the bathroom after eating. One of his legs is broken in two places, so he has a cast on it from his waist to his toes. And in the cabin, instead of a full toilet, there is a hole in the floor. Biryukov added that the defense still does not know when it will be possible to transfer Kinev to a regular cell.
At the end of September, the Perovsky Court in Moscow arrested Kinev in connection with the sale of drugs. He was charged with part 4 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which carries a penalty of 10 to 20 years in prison. During his arrest he was beaten, and in the detention center he was diagnosed with broken legs. In the trial Kinev said that he does not remember what happened after the arrest at his home. The political scientist pleaded not guilty. "Be careful, news. ".
