Russia is in contact with the United States on space issues, Putin said during an exhibition on the sidelines of the Russia-Africa summit. Separately, he talked about the collaboration with Elon Musk. Putin, speaking about Musk, mentioned Starlink, a satellite Internet system developed by SpaceX, founded by the billionaire. In Russia, the private aviation company Bureau 1440 is developing a similar Shahar system: it launched the first satellites into orbit in March. "Elon Musk is a genius, an industrial genius. He has more on track - how many such devices? - More than five thousand. And we are just taking our first steps." - said Putin. According to him, Russia is "in close contact with American partners, including Mr. Musk": "Despite all the political issues, we work closely". added In October, Musk limited Starlink's operation to the Ukrainian military. On social networks, he explained this by saying that the system was used for "offensive drone attacks", which violated the terms of use. The Wall Street Journal, citing sources, wrote that Trump asked Musk to remove the restrictions - and soon the American president announced that the billionaire had returned access to Starlink to Ukraine.
