"We can't throw these books away. It's toxic waste. They need to be removed, and it's also at our expense." He added that some of the books have not yet been destroyed and are in the warehouse, which Breichkin called "in a sense, a special storage facility." The network spent another tens of millions of rubles on labeling books that mentioned drugs. About 2 million publications have already been flagged, the top executive said. At the same time, Barichkin complained that tests, for example, for LGBT* propaganda, arise suddenly, without a fixed procedure, after which the network begins to give an account immediately: "We don't even have a chance to meet the requirements of the law." The day before it became known that almost half of the Russian libraries had already faced inspections by the security forces, and every fifth had received comments or instructions. At the same time, more than 70% of librarians have not been trained to work with forbidden literature, and about a third complain about the lack of clear instructions. *The "LGBT movement" is recognized as an extremist organization in the Russian Federation, its activity is prohibited.
