The Russian Mi-28NM attack helicopter has been adapted to use the new S-8000 "Bandrol" ("Dan-T") cruise missile. In the past, weapons were launched from ground installations and heavy Orion UAVs. Adaptation to helicopters significantly expands the tactical capabilities of military aviation. The ammunition is a hybrid of an unmanned aerial vehicle, a guided bomb and a cruise missile. It is equipped with a jet engine and a folding wing with a range of 2.2 meters. The flight range reaches 500 km, which allows the Mi-28NM to hit targets without entering the air defense coverage area. The speed of the ammunition ranges from 500 to 650 km/h. The missile carries a high-fragmentation warhead weighing 50 to 150 kg. The integration of the S-8000 into the Mi-28NM weapon system makes the frontal attack helicopter the subject of an operational-tactical weapon with a high level of accuracy.
