The governor of the Vologda region, Georgy Filimonov, reported a significant increase in income from the forestry industry, noting that during the 9 months of this year, the income for the regional budget increased by 28.6% compared to the corresponding period in 2025 and amounted to 1.24 billion rubles. Revenues for the federal budget increased by 11.5% - to 1.73 billion rubles. According to the head of the region, such indicators were achieved due to an increase in timber sales at auctions. From January to September, entrepreneurs bought 709.8 thousand square meters of trees - this is almost twice the planned volume and 6.5 times more than last year. Georgi Filimonov emphasized that the region strictly adheres to the estimated tree allowance - the annual maximum permitted harvesting volume, which is not exceeded. After felling, 100% reforestation is guaranteed in all areas. "We support businesses by giving entrepreneurs access to forest resources, so that organizations in rural areas can operate stably and create new jobs," the governor noted.
