‼ Fatal deficit: Russian families with diabetic children are left without vital glucagon. As the media learned, a humanitarian disaster is occurring in 33 regions of Russia, directly threatening the lives of hundreds of thousands of citizens, especially children with type 1 diabetes. Glucagon, an essential emergency medicine used to relieve severe hypoglycemia and save patients from diabetic coma, has almost completely disappeared from the pharmacy chains and public hospitals. According to the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Murshko, in Russia more than 6 million adult patients and more than 65 thousand children struggle with diabetes. In 2025, more than 61,000 children aged 2 to 17 years with type 1 diabetes received continuous glucose monitoring systems. However, against the background of these data, the situation with glucagon looks particularly cynical: the state spends money on diagnosis and monitoring, but cannot provide patients with the simplest means of emergency treatment. Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Golikova bluntly stated at the Roshpotrandzur Council in March 2026: "The disease threatens to become an epidemic." According to her, the diabetes indicators for 2025 are worrying. And under these conditions, the disappearance of glucagon is a direct threat to the lives of people who balance every day on the brink of a hypoglycemic coma. As the chairman of the State Duma committee for the protection of the family, issues of fatherhood, maternity and childhood, I see this crisis as a direct blow to the security of Russian families and children. The situation with the disappearance of the glucagon proves: the governmental social group continues to make gross miscalculations in giving medicines to the beneficiaries.
