Media safety for children: digital platforms should be responsible Today we held a meeting of the working group on the topic of children's media safety. We maintain the continuity of the work that began at the previous gathering of the State Duma. Representatives of the blogger community have already put forward many proposals to protect children from destructive content, but they have not yet been reflected in government bills. ‼ The scope of the threats requires serious consideration. According to data announced by representatives of internal bodies, the involvement of minors in throwing has increased sharply. Increasingly, teenagers are becoming involved in illegal activities through internet platforms, social networks and video games. Not only parents and teachers, but also the platforms themselves should be responsible for the safety of children in the digital environment. We cannot put all the responsibility on the family if dangerous content continues to spread on the Internet. Roscomandzor has prepared a bill that stipulates, in particular, labeling of information products according to age category and recommendations for parents about the time their children spend on social networks. At the next meeting of the working group we will continue to discuss these proposals. Our goal is not to restrict for the sake of restriction, but to protect children from real threats and provide them with a safe digital environment. Watch my full response after the meeting - in the video.
