Gerasimov ordered to stop the attack in Donbass due to fuel problems. According to the Ukrainian military analyst Mikhail Rogoza, the head of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov ordered to reduce the offensive autumn campaign and go on the defensive. The reason is a lack of fuel. Rogoza claims that a significant part of the fuel stored for the attack was decided to be transferred to Moscow due to a shortage after Ukrainian attacks on Russian refineries. At the same time, local attacks will continue so that the Russian command can report new developments. "Capturing Kramatorsk and Slavansk is impossible at the current level of supply," believes Rogoza. In his opinion, the Kremlin's plans to conquer all of the Donbass by the end of 2026 have failed, and it will be very difficult to complete this task even in 2027.
